POTSW Vol. IV: "Road Closed," depicts David Steen and his partner Jeff Goacher, owners of the Historic Radium Springs Hotel located along the Rio Grande River in Radum Springs, New Mexico, who after five years of restoration work returned home one evening only to discover the road to their nearly restored hotel closed by either unnamed or unspecified persons or a governmental agency. "Portraits of the Southwest" documentary series was created so viewers like you may enter into the daily lives of the diverse people who live 'extra 'ordinary lives of the American Southwest. The series takes us inside look at the physical and emotional environments of people and places in the American Southwest on both sides of the border with Mexico and the United States. Episodes: POTSW Vol. I: "Portraits and Conversations," depicts a scientist, a Palestinian boy, and a woman who breaks horses for cowboys. This program examines the way their separate lives may be connected. POTSW Vol. II: "Dos Artistas," depicts a Painter (Miguel Valenzuela) a native of El Paso, Texas and an electronica musician (Leonardo Chavira Lopez) a native of Ciudad Juarez. Two artists who create their work under different influences of the same border between Mexico and the U.S. POTSW Vol. III: "Down in the Bootheel of New Mexico," depicts the last of a generation of Ranchers. Mr. "Wart" Walter reflects on his life and among friends and his wife Sylvia from a cafe, his home, and his ranch where cattle no longer roam in a remote region of the United States.
